Designing your unique afterlife celebration
You are memorable
and your funeral
should be too
I will help you create a non-traditional ritual that encapsulates your memory into an event through a 1:1 exploration of your life.

I feel a devotion to place-making and creating experiences. I have previously designed immersive entertainment spaces, worked on art installations, and coordinated events. I want to use these skills to help you make your end-of-life celebration fantastic and unusual.
I want to push the boundaries of what a funeral is. Affected by death at a young age, I believe death is worth preparing for while still living.
I have been planning my own funeral since I was 20, and it grows more elaborate and ridiculous as I grow older. Planning a joyous ritual for myself is my way of taking control of the natural fear of dying.

Past Fantasies
Amy
Amy’s ashes will be mixed with lilac seeds and pressed into the soil by her three sisters. The gathering will be in the woods or a shady park, sometime in the fall. Tables will be set with cheese, sausages, chocolate, and beer—things she liked. Jazz will drift in and out. Kids will draw on butcher paper while adults build card houses or paint part of a mural. At sunset, a slideshow of old photos and short stories will play against a wall or a sheet, followed by a few toasts. A bonfire will be lit. People might dance. Somewhere in the background, someone will be opening champagne bottles with a saber. Guests will leave with a small object in their pocket, or a song stuck in their head.
